GLOSSYBOX UNBOXING - OCTOBERS HALLOWEEN EDITION BOX (TRICK OR TREAT?)

Well hey everybody,

So who else has finally received this month's box? And is really digging the theme of it too. 👻

I know I'm pretty late to blogging about this month's box but there did seem to be delays this month with people receiving their boxes. Plus, I do receive a lot of beauty boxes now so sometimes I find it difficult to be able to blog on each box within a quick time frame. I work long funny hours too which doesn't help. I used to aim for a minimum of one blog post a week and really hope to stick to it but it might not always be a set thing.

Anyway...

There are two different boxes people would have received for October's box, their 'Trick' box, or their 'Treat' one. The same products in each of the boxes of course, with the exception of some of the products being different shades, etc.

I was pretty impressed to see that four of the five products are full sized.

You get your usual card giving a brief description of the products, their Rrp and what size products you are receiving. I definitely think Glossybox are one of the best beauty boxes when it comes to this kind of thing.

The first product is a 12 pan eyeshadow by the brand Sleek Makeup. There are two different palettes in either box and the Treat box contained the 'Oh so special' palette. I remember receiving an eyeshadow palette by this brand in a previous box which I think may have been their valentine's edition box. I haven't tried any eyeshadow palettes by this brand and probably couldn't see myself using this for a number of reasons. One, I'm not that into the whole eyeshadow look anyway. Two, because I suck at it and have a ridiculous amount of palettes anyway that I need to use, and lastly the shades aren't all that exciting and I definitely could find most if not all of the shades in the palettes I already currently own. This is what it looks like though by the way.

Another makeup product in the box is by the brand Makeup Academy and is their 'Set & Reflect Finishing kit' I have tried products by this brand before and can tell you that if you're on a budget or just simply want to try a new makeup brand then Makeup Academy is definitely worth checking out. They're ridiculously cheap too. I bought a load of their liquid lipsticks and of course you get what you pay for the price but they're not actually all that bad. Again, I probably wouldn't use this product anyway. I definitely know there is a highlighter in the kit and I have so many that I simply don't need anymore. I think it could be a contour shade in there too and if so I'm not going to need to use that either. I haven't taken the seal off so I can show the product on my blog as I know I want to give it away so didn't want to open it.

The next product is the Illamasqua antimatter lipstick in the shade Nebula. I have heard really good things about the brand and really want to try something by them and I am definitely a lip person when it comes to makeup products so this should have really been a gold egg for me but this particular shade is not something I would wear. I'm teeth whitening at the moment too and am starting to feel more confident in wearing brighter bolder colours but this particular pink is just too bold for me and I know that it just doesn't and wouldn't suit me.

And the fourth product and the last full sized product in this box is the loose translucent powder by LunabyLuna. There was also a loose translucent powder in a previous Glossybox, although I can't remember which one. I do want to say it was their blast from the past themed box (80s 90s) but I could be wrong. I'm not a huge fan of loose setting powders just because I find they can really mattify (Is that even a word?) your look and enhance some features that are trying to be concealed. I find this definitely applies to myself anyway. I do use the powder from time to time and have a generous amount left so this will probably be another product I won't need to keep or get around to using.

And the final product and the only product that is not full sized is the 'In Transit Camera Close Up' by This Works. This is a moisturiser and primer in one. I also won't be using this just because I have enough primer's and have a moisturiser that I am happy using.

Honestly, it seems like I haven't enjoyed this month's box at all but I really do think it's one of Glossybox's best one. It's just a case of I have these products that I am still currently using, or already have more than one and I know I simply won't get through them quick enough to warrant needing more.

If you do watch my videos over on my Youtube channel too (You can find me under Josephine xoxo for those of you who don't btw) then you'll be aware that I am doing a Christmas giveaway soon and all of these items will be included in the bundle if IIdon't give some of them away to family. ROCCABOX UNBOXING - OCTOBER 2018 UK BOX

October's Roccabox is here and this month's box features five beauty products, with three of the products being full sized.

And if you're not familiar with Roccabox, they're very similar to the other beauty boxes out there but sometimes you'll see some collaboration boxes between beauty bloggers and influencers. Which is pretty cool in my opinion and really lets you discover new people out there in the beauty industry that can definitely get overlooked.

I think they're quite a relatively new beauty box and I've been only been subscribed to them a few months but I have been really enjoying trying out the products in the boxes and discovering new brands that are out there.

I was really happy to see a shower wash/gel/cream etc in this box. I absolutely love shower gels and find it's one of those things that you can never have not enough off. It's a bit like wipes and other stuff. This is a brand I haven't tried before and comes in the form of a cream foam. I have tried the Imperial Leather unicorn foamburst from a previous box before and absolutely loved it. I'm pretty sure I tried another foam product by Original Source and I quite like the foam shower products. This one is by the brand Bilou and is the cotton candy one. I love the packaging too.

And there is another face mask which seems to be a popular thing at the moment in beauty boxes. I'm sure other people would be fed up with so many similar products but face masks are usually done as a frequent thing anyway. I actually got the exact same face mask of this in a previous box from last month. I think it may have been from Mumsy box. The only thing different is the smell of the face mask. I haven't tried it yet so if I do end up liking it I do also have this one to also try.

I'm in need of a new brush and definitely something for tangled hair as I have super long thick hair that can get pretty knotted quickly so it was good to see the black diamond detangling brush by the brand Hairon. I will admit that I've actually been using this brush for my rug so actually still need to invest in a new hairbrush. Honestly, it does the job perfectly, lol.

I do love perfumes so it's nice to try out samples. In this box you get a sample size vial of the Agent Provocateur Aphrodisiaque perfume. I have tried it and it's definitely not my cup of tea. I wouldn't purchase a big bottle of this at all.

And the final product is the Coco & Eve 'Like A Virgin' hair mask. The product isn't their full size and to be honest hair masks aren't something I feel is necessary for myself. I'm fortunate to have healthy looking hair and any conditioner from the drugstore is good enough to use for me. I definitely wouldn't pay over £34 pounds for this kind of product, especially having tried hair masques of a similar size before and found I can use a tub up in under 5 washes.

That's all the products for October's box.

Make sure to follow me on twitter as I'm planning to do a Christmas giveaway soon 🎅🌲🎁 You can get me at @clownthatsmiles

WHAT PRODUCTS I CHOSE IN MY OCTOBER'S LATEST IN BEAUTY BOX

Another beauty box blog post.

I know they get pretty repetitive but if I'm going to blog about any of the beauty boxes I receive every month, then Latest In Beauty is definitely going to be one of them.

With this month's box being my second one off them, I am yet again really happy with everything I picked out and really do believe it's the perfect box for the those who have been disappointed with the kind of products they get in the other beauty boxes out there.

With Latest In Beauty, you get too choose the products for you. And you get to pick from the different subscriptions they have to offer.

I picked the subscription of choosing 9 products for £18.99 a month. All you do is wait for an email once payment has been taken out and you pick your products for your box. It's as easy as that.

This month's box I did pick out mainly skincare stuff again. To be honest there wasn't much exciting makeup they had to choose from and it was very limited on the products you could pick.

I've heard a lot about Micellar water by Garnier so really wanted to try it out for myself. I don't usually tend to use micellar waters or anything like that but wanted to give it a try. If you have sensitive skin and want something perfume free and gentle on the skin then this might be a suitable product for you.

And as mentioned in one of my recent blog posts, I'm pretty obsessed with Sanctuary Spa products at the moment. So I picked out their body wash to try out. As well as their Protect & Illuminate Moisture Lotion.

I've also chosen a hand cream by the brand Hill & Noble. It's their Orange Blossom & Mandarin. I honestly get through so much hand cream.

I also picked out some nail polishes as I'm really into doing my nails at the moment. I did kind of choose summery colours but I'm kind of that person who thinks who cares what nail polish should be worn in what season. Just do you.

I picked out the shade Roll In The Grass by Rimmel London. I love the colour and do agree it's more for summer but I'll still wear it in winter.

I also got the shade One Perfect Correct by Revlon. And a mini nail polish by Opi. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to have a shade name on the bottle.

I don't really have dark circles personally but wanted to try the eye masks by Anne Semonin. I do tend to get tired eyes.

And finally the last product I chose is a crayon lipstick by Lord & Berry. It's a gorgeous orange coral shade and not something I would usually wear but wanted to try it out myself. Since I've been teeth whitening I'm really wanting to be able to try more bolder and warmer colours.

This is my second month box from Latest In Beauty and I'm pretty freaking obsessed with it.

If you're subscribed to Latest In Beauty, then what products did you choose for your box?

BEAUTY BOX UNBOXING - LOOK FANTASTIC OCTOBER 2018 UK BOX

Another month is upon us which means lots of beauty boxes have arrived with new beauty products to discover.

If you frequent my blog then you'll know I am subscribed to a lot of beauty boxes and really am kind of obsessed with them.

But anyway,

Onto the Look Fantastic box, this is my second box from Look Fantastic with the first box I received off them being their Birthday Edition box. Which, by the way, I found pretty underwhelming considering.

This month's box features six products with a copy of Elle magazine included. I can't say what the product sizes are, meaning whether they are full sized products or not as Look Fantastic don't seem to include that in their box, nor do they give Rrp prices either. Which is a bummer in my opinion. It's definitely something they should be including.

I'm not a fan of every product in this box but I'm definitely more of a fan than the previous box.

I was really excited to see a blusher by Pixi but the shade does look like it won't go with my complexion so I may not use it. I've not tried any Pixi products before and I see mixed reviews so I'm pretty curious. I've received two products in my boxes by Pixi and neither are anything I would get to use which is sad.

I'm so obsessed with face masks too so seeing another one in one of the boxes didn't bother me one bit. This mask is the bubble mask bio detox by Talika. I've never tried a bubble mask before so I'm so excited to give it a try.

Another product I'm looking forward to trying out is the Mineral Body Lotion by Ahava. It smells so good honestly.

I wasn't that fussed on the lip tint by Dr Lipp. Lip tints aren't really something I've explored so I probably really should try it out before judging.

And the next product I haven't yet tried but am really looking forward to giving a go is the Night Renewal Complex by Monu. I have tried something from the brand before and remember really enjoying it. I'm really getting into skincare at the moment and finding what is good for me and a night cream isn't something I've been using.

And the final product is a Throat & Decolletage Cream by Prai. I am also definitely going to try this out as I never think of my neck when I moisturise and should be doing really.

That's the six products in this month's box. I'm quite happy with this month's box. I definitely prefer it to last month's which I did enjoy but I just think there's more in this box I feel enthusiastic to try out.

Are you subscribed to Look Fantastic? What did you think of this month's box?
