GLOSSYBOX UNBOXING - APRIL'S 2019 BOX

Before I get started with the products in this month's Glossybox I just need to show you how obsessed I am with the box itself. It's definitely one I'm going to be keeping.

And actually for this month there's two different boxes you could receive, both with similar products inside (I literally think only one product was not the same in either box) one being fruity and the other floral.

The first product is a sweet summery smelling parfum by the brand Jeanne Arthes.

It blends tangerine, blackcurrant and passion fruit with delicate notes of raspberry, peach, and apple to create a fresh and feminine scent that will delight your senses.

I wouldn't have gone out of my way to purchase this myself just because the scent isn't my kind of smell but I don't necessarily hate it and will end up using it. It's a good size to pop in your handbag for work or going out and has that Summer feel to it. I'm more in love with the design on the glass bottle than anything else.

The second product is again something I wouldn't purchase myself and that's the Hair Vitamins by Hair Flick.

They are scientifically formulated to support healthy hair growth. Taking two gummies a day apparently will promote the gorgeous locks you've always dreamed of. They may even improve your skin and nails too.

Now I'm pretty sure I read that there is no actual solid proof these type of vitamins actually do much of anything and are usually full of sugars, essentially being a glorified over expensive sweet. I'm also pretty sure a healthy well balanced diet is enough in most cases and you'd have to have a really low deficiency to ever need supplements to the point usually the ones you can purchase otc are not really effective and you would need a prescription by a GP. If I'm wrong with this then do correct me. But I don't feel I would want to spend such money every month on them.

And this product I know will have definitely peeved off lots of glossy subscribers and that's the Apple and Melon shower gel (there is a different one you could have received in Raspberry and Rose water) by Original Source as I know the price point puts people off as it's easily affordable and doesn't seem like it should be in a Glossybox. I personally love shower gels and I too would hate to see them in a beauty box every month but they aren't and I love trying different ones out and usually the other products in the boxes give a higher Rrp value combined than what you pay anyway.

The next product which is another disappointment to see in this month's box and that's the Hot Pink Balm by Dr Paw Paw. I love their original balm which I use but it lasts a lifetime and I have a back up as I received another one in a different beauty box so to see another balm by them is disappointing. This one has a pink tint to it so can be used on your cheek but I'm not into blusher on the cheek much anyway and have a powder I much prefer to use.

And the last product is the Pomegranate Superfood Regenerating Sleeping Mask by Dr Botanicals.

Rich in moisturising pomegranate, it's all natural and vegan formula deeply nourishes and hydrates your skin.

They also included an extra treat - The Chai Seed & Argan Oil Hair Mask by Palmer's.

So I definitely have mixed feeling for this month's box. I expected something better. A lot of the products are not something I'm really interested in or could see myself using. But Glossybox overall is such a great box for your money and it's very rare where I receive a box I'm feeling pretty underwhelmed with.

Roccabox Unboxing - April 2019 Box

This month's Roccabox has arrived and a few products out of this box I'm pretty excited to try out.

Included in this month's box are a total of five products with three of them being full sized.

I'm so excited to see a set of nail stickers. It's not something I have seen from a beauty box before.  These ones are by the brand Mepsy. I've never tried gel nail stickers so I don't know how tricky they are going to be but I'm definitely going to give them a try. Plus, if I'm impressed and want to try more from the brand there is a 30% percent discount to be used. I did always assume nail stickers were to be put on top of plain acrylics so I'm glad that's not the case as this looks much easier. They're a gorgeous set too.

The next product is the Nutritive Encapsulate Serum by Nexus. It says replenishing up to 14 days of lost proteins in just one use, this powerful serum restores hair fibres to unlock beautiful strength and movement.

I'm tired of receiving hair care products. I'll just be getting rid of this.

And another disappointing product to see is the Shodo Eyeliner Pen by Lord And Berry.

There's too many eyeliners in beauty boxes and I don't understand the need for so many as they last a life time. It's going to be another product I will be parting with.

And a familiar brand name that has been popping up in beauty boxes lately is Vitamasques. I received their Jade Sheet Mask. I've tried a few of their masks from beauty boxes recently. I absolutely love sheet masks and find they are one of my favourite type of masks to use. Vitamasques have some real good masks and then some not so great ones. Hopefully this one will be good.

And the final product is the Flash Cleanse Micellar Water by Balance Me.

Featuring a blend of hydrating, anti-ageing and calming ingredients, this flash cleanse micellar water is the perfect quick cleansing solution for all skin types.

I use the micellar water by Garnier and think it's really good for the price. I couldn't see myself paying any more than what I pay now but I will try this out once I come to the end of the micellar water I am using currently.

Below is the products listed with their Rrp and whether they are full sized or not.

1. Nutritive Encapsulate Serum - Nexus - Rrp £24.99 for 60ml (Travel Size 15ml)

2. Gel Nail Stickers - Mepsy - Rrp £9.95 (Full Sized)

3. Shodo Eyeliner Pen - Lord And Berry - Rrp £16 (Full Sized)

4. Jade Face Mask - Vitamasques - Rrp £5.99 (Full Sized)

5. Flash Cleanse Micellar Water - BalanceMe - Rrp £16 for 180ml (Travel Sized 30ml)

Look Fantastic Unboxing - April 2019 Box

Happy Spring,

I'm actually shocked how quick this year has been going and I can't believe we're now into April and have left Winter behind. I'm so happy that the warmer weather is slowly hitting. Hello Summer hiding around the corner🌞

I'm also slowly starting to see a change in the products we are receiving from beauty boxes and am excited to see what new products are out there to try out and most importantly what products will help protect my skin for that warmer weather that is slowly creeping in.

The first product in this month's Look Fantastic Box is the Natural Sea Bath Salts by the brand Ahava.

Enriched with 21 essential skin-friendly minerals, these salts can help to replenish skin and relieve muscle tension and inflammation whilst simultaneously softening and hydrating skin.

I don't have baths religiously but when I have the time and want to really relax I absolutely love having a bath and there's nothing better than adding a little something to the bath to make you feel better. It really does work in my opinion. I've been using the Aromatherapy Associates bath oil and have nearly come to the end of the bottle so I'll be using this for when I next have a bath and see just what it does. It does say you use the whole packet for one bath too which actually surprised me but then bath salts are not something I'm used to using so I'm assuming you put a lot in at one time to really get the benefits.

The second product is by the brand Emma Hardie and is their Midas Touch Revitalising Cream. It says it deeply hydrates and moisturises, lifts and smooths, and improves firmness and elasticity. I've found some real gems in beauty boxes when it comes to face moisturisers and I've had at least three I really want to repurchase and cannot decide which one to pick. And then of course more come in the boxes so I never end up purchasing a full size face cream when I have so many other ones to try out and get through.

I really loved the Ren Evercalm Day cream from one of the previous Look Fantastic boxes and have been checking out the full size product of it and I've really been loving the Nuxe Aquabella moisturising emulsion and if there comes a time when I stop receiving moisturisers I will definitely be purchasing one of them.

There is the Vitamin C Repair Serum by Balance Me. I'm sure I've received one or two serums in previous boxes but can't seem to find any. It's definitely a product I want to start including in my skin regime. This particular product boasts it's combat against anti-ageing and hyperpigmentation and contains stabilised Vitamin C and Melavoid, that works to reduce skin pigmentation and calm inflamed skin, leaving your complexion soft and radiant.

I was bummed to see yet again another hair care product. When there comes a month where there is not one hair care product in a beauty box I will rejoice. I'm so fed up of hair care products. There's too many of the same type of products I receive that I just don't need anymore. It's exactly the same for lip balms and eyeliners too. They last a lifetime so I don't understand why beauty boxes keep pushing these products out in their boxes every single month.

This product is the Back Into The Roots by Grow Gorgeous. It says it helps to revive tired and flat hair in a 10 minute miracle worker that will add a boost of life into the roots

I need to seriously do a sort out of all the hair care products I have as there are too many that I simply will not use.

There is a lipstick by Bellapierre in this month's box. Lately all the lipsticks seem to nothing but variations of red which never excite me as red is not a colour I can pull off so I'm always disappointed to see that colour. I do absolutely love the outer packaging though. It has a luxurious feel to it and their lipsticks smell like Mac ones.

And the final product is the Recovery Mask by Naobay. I absolutely loved their gel to milk cleanser so I'm kind of excited to have another one of their products to try out.

It says it's created for sensitive skin and contains softening and refreshing orange floral water, vitamin E and moisturising ingredients such as rice, poppy and tigernut oils to restore fatty acid levels in the skin.

That's all the products included in this month's box. Are you subscribed to Look Fantastic? What did you think of this month's box?
