Trying out the Nip + Fab CC Cream

So the other day I tried out the Nip + Fab CC cream and it performed so badly that I knew I was definitely going to have to blog about my experience with it.

I know this isn't a new product or anything but you can still buy this CC cream now on some websites (I believe Nip + Fab have discontinued it so there is limited stock left) and it's going for a pretty cheap price too. I think I paid under £3 for mine.

I haven't called this try out a review like I do with my other blog posts where I am trying out products simply because I didn't test it out over a long period of time like I usually do. This is more of a first impressions than anything else. And I'll explain further down on why.

So the Nip + Fab CC cream has SPF30 and contains Saline for 24 hour moisturisation, Oat extract to help tone and smooth the appearance of skin, and hylauronic acid for hydration of the skin.

It comes in a 40ml squeeze tube and I have the Light shade. It looks like this by the way

When I squeezed some out, it looked really orange and I thought there was no way I was going to get it to work. They did say to blend it down your neck but who wants to have to do that all the time. But in fact once I got round to blending the product in, it really didn't show as orange as the product appeared. I mean it was still really bloody awful but not as big of a disaster I thought it would look. However, there was no way this cc cream was going to match any skin tone.

This is what it looked like on my arm by the way

So I did use a brush to apply it onto my face. I'm not really much of a brush fan anymore (Save for the Real Techniques buffing brush because it's AMAZING) but I hadn't gotten round to washing my sponges at the time.

It applied really well with a brush to begin with and didn't leave any brush marks as sometimes this does happen with certain liquid products. I found you did have time to work with it as well. I used a few dots around the face but probably the same amount I would use with any foundation.

The product provides a medium coverage which I didn't agree with at all. It did cover some of my redness and did nothing at covering my acne scarring.

What I really was impressed with was how well it reduced the appearance of my pores. I have quite big pores and they are pretty much everywhere on my face and this did do a good job and reducing their appearance.

But more of the cons, I absolutely hated the smell of the product. I've never actually smelt that kind of scent before. It just smelt really cheap and it didn't go away. I'm not usually one to complain about strong smelling products but this was just yuck. In fact it was getting to me that bad I couldn't keep it on for too long.

And the last thing which made it even worse was how it started to flake on my cheeks. Then when I touched  where the flaking was occurring, the product literally crumbled away.

I do have dehydrated skin but I don't suffer from extreme dry skin so I was confused why the product did this.

I am really let down by this CC cream and it's definitely one of the worst products I have tried in a really long time. I do take into consideration the price but I have definitely tried cc creams only a few pounds more and they didn't even sit at the same level of terrible that this cc cream did. I can see why Nip + Fab do not sell this cream anymore.

Needless to say, it went straight into the bin.

If you have tried this cc cream in the past, let me know what you thought of it and how well it performed for you.

Xoxo
